6th December 2025 - planted 13 trees

13th December 2025 - trees checked and a plum tree was missing a strap from the post

29th December 2025 - a tree had been nibbled by a deer

30th December 2025 - supplies of chicken wire, staples and ties were purchased

2nd January 2026 - the trees had protection around them so prevent the deer eating them. Thank you to Janet, Graham and Stuart

21st January 2026 - the trees now have labels! Thanks to Phil for making them

26th January 2026 - our first Wassailing event - lots of people, noise and high spirits blessing the trees

9th February 2026 - trees checked following the rain - all ok

28th February 2026 - some trees were starting to bud

8th April 2026 - watering is needed - volunteers and large containers went to the Orchard to give the trees a drink. The ground was damp so enough to stop them drying out.

18th April 2026 - looked like a tree had been dug up - but safely replanted thanks to Richard and Lee

2nd May 2026 - lots of rain!

4th May 2026 - watering done

7th May 2026 - our own 51 litre water rollers were delivered - making watering easier and safer

10th May 2026 - watering done with 51×3 and 2×25 litres shared amongst the orchard

22nd May 2026 - watering of the roots done

23rd May 2026 - watering done 6 barrels

26th May 2026 - 100 litres of water given to the trees

30th May 2026 - the Saturday fitness group kindly watered the trees

2nd June 2026 - lots of rain

14th June 2026 - the small fruit that had formed was removed to give the trees better chance for the future, green fly infestation

17th June 2026 - trees were sprayed with Bugclear (organic and recommended) and lightly watered

21st June 2026 - trees watered with 190 litres of water and no signs of aphids

4th July 2026 - watering done 2 barrels, 4 watering cans and a bucket

21st July 2026 - Scouts and Families watered as part of the Eco Ramble (Scouts visited the Orchard, Fish Pass and the Lock)

27th July 2026 - watering done - thank you

29th July 2026 - 17 litres of watering and 250 litres watering - thank you

30th July 2026 - 17 litres of watering am and 250 litres watering - thank you

31st July 2026 - morning watering of 17 litres and litter picking - thank you

1st August 2026 - 250 litres of watering done with lots of volunteers - thank you

3rd August 2026 - watering done with 6 volunteers - thank you
